If you can read this, the migration worked.
We picked up the whole site — every post, every comment, every like, every member — and dropped it onto a brand-new platform. Same MadWay, same garage, just a new lift in the shop and a fresh coat of paint on the walls.
What stayed
- Your account. Same username, same password. Log in like nothing happened.
- Every post. All 1,200+ of them, going back years.
- Every comment. Nothing was nuked.
- Every like. Your upvotes on comments came along too.
- Your bookmarks, tags, categories. All here.
- Old links. If someone linked to
madway.net/posts/123-some-slug.htmlsomewhere on the internet in 2018, that link still works — it now quietly redirects to the new topic URL. - Avatars. If you had one, it's still your ugly face.
What's new
- The forum runs faster. Way faster. Pages that used to take 2 seconds now take 200ms.
- The editor is cleaner. Markdown is the default, but you can still paste YouTube/Vimeo/Twitter/SoundCloud links and they embed automatically. Images, videos, quotes, lists — all work.
- Mobile is actually usable now. Like, really usable. Try it.
- Daily check-ins, points, leaderboards — all the stuff is new futures.
- Dark mode and light mode toggle in the header. Pick your poison.
What's maybe a little different
- A handful of features from the old site didn't make the trip: photo albums, private messages, the activity feed, polls, user groups/clubs. We may bring some of these back later, we may not. The forum itself — the part that matters — is fully intact.
- If you had an old MD5 password (very old accounts from years ago), the new system couldn't read it. You'll get a "password reset" prompt when you try to log in. Click it, set a new one, you're in. Took me 20 seconds when I tested it.
- Some images embedded inside very old posts might point at old paths. If you spot a broken image, drop a comment below and I'll fix it.
Found a bug?
Reply to this thread. I'll be watching it. Migration is 99% done — there's always a 1% of weirdness that only shows up when real humans start clicking around. Be specific: URL, what you expected, what you got. Screenshot if it's visual.
Final word
The internet is 90% bullshit. We post the other 10%. That didn't change. Same rule applies here as before: no bots, no politics. Just a website, and the things actually worth your time.
Thanks for sticking around through the move. The garage is open.
