In my dream today, some guy was reading instructions to me from a book. In English. He sounded so calm and confident. I listened, and I understood everything.
The thing is, while I can understand English, I’m actually really bad at speaking it. Whenever I need to say something, it’s all: "Uh… um… well, you know…" But here was this guy, rattling off entire sets of instructions.
I woke up and thought: wait a minute. Who was providing the voice for this guy?
My own brain.
So, you son of a bitch—you can speak English? You’ve got the vocabulary and the ability to construct proper sentences in there? But whenever I need to say something, it’s just, "Sorry, boss—best I can do is 'London is the capital'?"
Some random guy in a dream gets full access to the language pack, while I—the actual owner of this head—am stuck on the free, limited version.
How does this even work? How do I get administrator privileges?
